baby shower invites

A few weeks ago I was asked to design some baby shower invites (I guess it makes sense given the design degree). I was given free-reign which is always fun, but sort of tricky/overwhelming all at the same time...a bit like having a baby I guess!? As I am a huge fan of not using the computer, out came the watercolour pencils and scissors - the only logical explanation. I opted for something that would speak 'baby' without all the obvious bits. Not a baby bottle in sight!

I clearly have a thing for colour and circles... not sure when that happened!?

a new year, a new start

After being MIA for a while, I'm back with a vengeance in 2013.

This year has kicked off with one fairly simple goal - keep fit and try to stick to a healthy breakfast each morning. So far so good. I have been having an egg (or two) for breakfast and a fruit smoothie. I am yet to wander into the ‘green’ territory (just thinking about drinking vegies makes me gag) but I might tackle that one head on this week. Cutting up fruit and freezing it in bags at the start of the week makes the whole process each morning a pretty speedy one.

The pool has become my new best friend (thanks to my jazzy new Speedos) and Pete my PT has been his usual godsend. If you're in the market for a personal trainer, Pete is the best in the business. You can find him over here.

So far, so good. The savings plan on the other hand...

going hypo for hydrangeas

Each time I've walked through the front gate over the last couple of weeks, I've been greeted by the amazing sight above. The colours are so varied and bright, fresh and crisp. Just oh so full of summer. I wish these bad-boy hydrangeas could last forever.

you look terrific babe

My obsession for Lucas Grogan is growing. This project in Hosier Lane combines two of my favorite things - Movida and Lucas. The project was commissioned by Citylights Projects, who responded to a request by Movida for a new, dynamic artwork to adorn Hosier Lane. You can check out some action scenes here.

The work aims to be interactive and familiar and that, it is. It makes me want to set up my deckchair and never leave the lane.

Lucas, all I want for Christmas is you.

friday wrap up

Blog of the week goes to Sonia Rentsch. From now on I will be playing with my food. Sorry in advance.

I had a real 'light bulb' moment late last week. I needed to get rid of my bookcase. It was very circa 1999 and had to go. Once I get something in my mind, it has to be done (preferably yesterday). So off to Ikea I went. I snapped up 3 high gloss floating shelves, managed to haul them to my car (all by myself) and got on my merry way.

Please don't judge me on that first picture (I am). The end result is a huge improvement. I am yet to put everything back/cull half the stuff that once was, but that is this weekend's project. Of course, everything was centered around MM's Things I love, what a wonderful ruler it makes!

I accidentally bought this beauty from búl yesterday. First peach item in my wardrobe... I'm actually pretty excited at its arrival. Welcome, I'm sure we will be the best of friends.

Finally went to David's post renovation. A very clean space, lots of white with touches of blue (interior designed by Hecker Guthrie). Industrial chairs and open space. The food was great, as was the company!

We celebrated our two year anniversary at work with stiff drink. Oh and also, after two years together, it seems we all dress the same now as well. Awkward much?

Miss Chu. 'nough said.
